Associate Professor (Tenured) of Acting and Directing

UC San Diego Department of Theatre and Dance seeks an experienced theatre professional to teach in our MFA Undergraduate Acting and Directing programs, with some undergraduate teaching. Applicants with considerable professional experience who have also taught in academic or professional studio settings are strongly preferred. Applicant should have significant experience in contemporary genres, including new plays, as well as knowledge of global theatre. Appointment and advancement at UC San Diego in the professorial series requires ongoing, significant and noteworthy creative activity. Start date 7/1/2009. Salary commensurate with experience, based on UC pay scales. Applicants are welcome to include a personal statement summarizing teaching experience and interests, leadership efforts, and/or contributions to diversity.

Assistant Professor of Digital Media at UC San Diego

Department of Theatre & Dance seeks a digital media artist in the field of theatre, dance, and performance. Artistic, collaborative experience in live performance, and technical knowledge in one or more of the following areas: projection design, animation, post-production, interactive and new media, and/or installation/performance art. Clear understanding of current critical and popular discourse regarding digital arts. Devise new courses and teach at graduate and undergraduate levels / supervise student productions and projects in an interdisciplinary department. Appointment and advancement at UC San Diego in the professorial series requires ongoing, significant and noteworthy creative activity. Start date 7/1/2009.
